What is ISEC ?

Date : 20-22 April 2012
Venue : Kulliyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia
Theme : ENVIROTECH - Empowering Young Engineer
Target Participants : Secondary school students from 70 schools around Malaysia

Inter-School Engineering Challenge (ISEC) is a competition-based programthat comprises a series of stages, with the combination of four subjects, namely Additional Mathematics, Modern Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, as the subject of matter.

The activities for this competition will be based on the car invention which comprise of two parts which are first, the model presentation by each team and secondly the speed race between each models. Based on these two criteria, we will select the best five teams with the best models which will be competing in the final. The winner for this competition will be decided again based on the best model presentation during the final and also the fastest model of all.

FEE : RM500 each team (including accommodation, transportation duringevent, food, T-shirt, kid)

Prizes:
1st prize - RM 3000
2nd prize - RM 2000
3rd prize - RM 1500

Categories:
Best presenter - RM 400
Fastest car - RM 400

Objective

- As the platform for the students to show their talent in basic engineering field.

- To apply the basic subjects learned in school into the engineering field.

- To enhance student ability in solving problems.

- To expose the basic engineering theory.

    FLOW OF PROGRAM

    Friday (20 April 2012)

    Time:   9am – 12 noon

    A)    Presentation of  Invention:

Participants need to present their own car. They should provide a clear explanation about the design structure, function, material used and others. Nature of presentation is like an exhibition presentation; all participants need to set up their own display materials. The judges will come to the participant’s booth to evaluate. All the presentation’s documentations need to be compiled and send to our respective committee before the presentation takes place.
Marks will be deducted for late submission.

    B)    Judging criteria

There will be 10-15 minutes for each team to present. 3 judges will come to each exhibition place to give marks. Some judging criteria that must be considered:
                                                                                                           I.            Type of modification
                                                                                                        II.            Design (Esthetic value)
